Fun debut at Clubhouse Sports Bar…
Fun night at Clubhouse Sports Bar. This is a such a cool place. So much more than virtual golf- good food, good drinks (nice bar), plenty of games (pool, shuffle board, pinball, video games, etc.), big screen TV's, and live music. We were privileged to be one of the first bands to play there and it's an awesome venue for live music. Tons of tables and plenty of room to dance.
We met a lot of cool new people who were definitely into the music. We treated them to many of our "bread and butter" classic rock tunes (44!) that everyone knows.
Thanks to Joe for inviting us to play. We hope to discuss returning at some point in the fall. We'll let you know.
Happy Father's Day to all you guys out there. Enjoy time with your fathers and/or children.
We're at Cabana Bar again on June 28th. Definitely looking forward to that.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another and yourselves. And keep on rockin."
Stellar night at Lione’s…
Another stellar night at Lione's. Place was packed again as we began the first set and dancers didn't wait to hit the floor. We actually had dancers from a wide age range- some youngsters were getting into it too. Cool to introduce some young ones to great classic rock tunes.
As always many familiar faces but we definitely made a lot of new fans as well who commented how much they loved the song selection and wanted to know where we're playing next.
Thanks to all who came out and partied with us. And thanks to Carlo and his awesome staff- they always do a great job. We'll be back a couple more times this year so be sure to check our website for those dates as well as all our upcoming dates.
Our next gig is June 13th at a new venue for us: the Clubhouse Sports Bar in Chester Springs. This is a unique place that offers food and drink but also golf simulators and many different types of games, etc. It should be a blast.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and one another. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
Well we got 2 sets in at Cabana Bar…
Not sure what we did to anger the weather gods, but they played a dirty trick on us this past Saturday at our Cabana Bar gig. All day and up until 7pm when we started the weather app said essentially no chance of rain at all throughout the entire night. And the evening did start out beautifully: clear skies, light breeze, and very comfortable temperature. And we had a great, standing room only crowd. The Cabana Bar even created a nice area right next to the bar with lounge chairs and plenty of space for people to sit on their lawn chairs, which many folks did.
The first set was awesome and we got through most of the second set when the wind really kicked up and the skies darkened. A quick check again of the weather app showed a 70% chance of rain in the next few minutes. Much to our chagrin, we decided to call it a night and hurriedly packed up all our gear and as we were just about finished the rains came. Now it was not a deluge fortunately but it was enough rain that we were glad we made the decision when we did and didn't wait. Frustrating for us and for all those there who were really enjoying the music.
Oh well, these are the chances we take with outdoor gigs. We were thankful though we got to play as much as we did.
Thanks again to all who came out. As usual many familiar faces but quite a few faces we hadn't seen in a while. That was a nice surprise.
We're off on Memorial Day weekend but are back in action on May 31st when we return to Lione's in Downingtown. Hope to see you there.
Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend. Be safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Fun time at Timothy’s…
Another fun night at Timothy's. (Although I think the person who had the most fun was one of our most favorite bartenders, Rochelle.) Good crowd. Dancers. Singers. Toe tappers.
We thank all of you who came out to party with us. Couldn't do it without you.
Second half of our doubleheader is Cabana Bar tonight and- fingers crossed- the weather looks awesome for an outside jam. Hope to see some of you there too. Bring lawn chairs because we expect an overflow crowd.
First outdoor gig of the season at Eagleville Taphouse…
Fun night at Eagleville Taphouse. Our first outdoor gig of the year and the weather was near perfect. Great crowd as usual at the Taphouse. We were happy to see some of our fans that we haven't seen in a little while. And, as usual, we had many of our regulars joining the festivities. Dancers, singers, and toe tappers were in abundance throughout the night. It's hard to resist the beats and rhythms of great classic rock songs- you just have to move.
We appreciated the hard work of the Taphouse crew who kept the food and drinks flowing all night. Couldn't do it without them.
Next weekend is a double header: Friday night at Timothy's in Lionville and Saturday night at Cabana Bar in Skippack which is another outdoor gig. We're psyched.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another.
“Easter Eve” jam at Marchwood was fun time..
Another fun night at Marchwood Tavern...what else is new? The "Easter Eve" crowd was in a great mood and enjoyed the classic rock tunes we jammed. (BTW: how does the Easter Bunny make it to all the kids' homes in one night? A learned scholar says it's because of his high metabolism and very long and strong hind legs. Hmmm...) Anyway, we had a blast as usual and are so thankful for all the folks who came out to party with us.
Thanks to the Marchwood crew for all their hard work throughout the evening. They made it all work smoothly.
Next up for us for us is the Eagleville Taphouse on May 10th. Music commences at 7pm.
In the meantime we hope all of you who celebrate Easter have a great day with whomever you're spending it with. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to each other and yourself. And as always keep on rockin'.
Exceptional night at The Dutch…
Another great night at The Dutch. That place never disappoints and we did our best not to disappoint those who joined us in party mode. We think we did just fine.
Thanks to all who came out last night. We continue to grow our fan base as more "newbies" come to see us at each gig and become followers.
The biggest part of all this is the music. It is evident at each gig that almost everyone, regardless of age, loves classic rock.
We appreciate the ongoing support from The Dutch and we're thankful to have another date there later this year.
Next up in 2 weeks (April 19th) is a return to Marchwood Tavern. We're looking forward to that and hope to see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and others. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
Rocked the VFW…
Another great night this past Saturday at Downingtown VFW. We see a lot of familiar faces now that we've been there a number of times. Those folks come ready to party and they're great people who love to have fun. Dancers from the first song and they kept it up all night.
So much great feedback as everyone loves the tunes we play and the way we play them- we rock them out.
We appreciate Sharon for inviting us to jam there and for her hard work behind the bar- and the rest of the staff as well. They all do a great job keeping everyone primed.
We have a couple more dates there later in the year so check out our website to see when we'll be back.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and others. And, as always keep on rockin'.
Debut at Bella Brew Pub was a tremendous success…
Our debut at Bella Brew Pub was a tremendous success by all measures. The place was near capacity even before we started playing. Folks came early to get a good seat and to get some good food and drink. They were primed to party when the music started and that's what we all did. More came in as the night progressed. So many good friends and fans of the band as well as some newbies showed up to show their support and to have a fun night. And a fun night it was.
We powered through 34 songs including a couple of special requests, a birthday medley, and an encore as requested. We always strive to bring our "A Game" as Rich would say but last night we may have surpassed that.
Our sets included a lot of songs that we haven't played out in a while and it felt good to brush the dust off them. So many great classic rock songs.
The Bella Brew crew was busy all night and we appreciate the yeoman work they did in keeping the food and drinks coming. They seemed happy with how the night went and we'd be surprised if we're not asked to return - and we would love to. Fun place to play.
Again we're sooo appreciative of all you who came out last night. You really are the reason why we do what we do So gratifying to see people having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Next up for us is the Downingtown VFW on March 22nd. Another fun place to play and we're looking forward to returning. Music starts at 7pm.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Rocked Lione’s…
Great night at Lione's! Standing room only and we rocked the place. As usual we saw a lot of familiar faces but a lot of new ones too. Everyone loved our mix of classic rock songs. It took a little while for the dancers to take the floor but when they did they did so with great enthusiasm. The response we got was awesome and we really appreciate all the kind words and support we received.
We broke "curfew" again as we didn't want to stop.
Thanks to Carlo and his crew for making sure the night went smoothly. Lione's is a great venue and we're looking forward to returning there May 31st. The weather should be good for us to play outside. We all can't wait for winter to be over with.
Next up for us is a new venue Bella Brew on March 8th. We're always excited to jam at a new venue and show more people what Breaking Curfew is all about.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Blast at the Brickhouse…
A blast at the Brickhouse last night. The dance floor was packed almost the entire night. (When it wasn't it was because people wore themselves out. LOL)
Again so many familiar faces and some new ones too. Everyone was having so much fun (and we were too) that we blew through what was to be our second break. We didn't want to lose the momentum all the partiers had going- and going strong.
We're back at Brickhouse on September 19th. But we have lots of awesome gigs at a lot of awesome venues between now and then. Next up is Lione's Pizza Restaurant in Downingtown on February 22nd.
Again, thanks to all who came out last night to party with us. We appreciate you all.
Until we see you again, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
Stellar night at Marchwood…
Stellar night at Marchwood Tavern. Folks came out in the cold expecting to party with us and no one was disappointed. Every available space was occupied and then some and the dancers started with song one and barely let up all night. Those not dancing were helping out by singing along with us. That's what's great about classic rock - everybody knows the songs and they bring out the joy.
As always, the crew at Marchwood, led by Steven and Donna, was awesome in taking care of everyone. We couldn't ask for anything more from them. (A special shout out to Cooper, my wife's and my waiter, as he was awesome.)
Thanks to all of you, the familiar faces and the new faces, who came out last night. We appreciate the support. Speaking of support, all of our wives were there last night which was awesome. They are truly our biggest supporters.
So a new year has begun and we're picking up where we left off last year. It's shaping up to another big year for us with our returning to many of our favorite venues but also debuting at some new venues that have reached out to us and want us to jam at their places. We're excited.
Our next gig is a return to Brickhouse Bar and Grill on February 1st. Music starts at 8pm.
In the meantime, stay
We’re back! And we rocked The Dutch…
After our brief holiday hiatus we started the new year with a bang. We rocked The Dutch and brought the heat on a cold night. It was great to see so many of our fans and friends again as well as many new faces. They all had one thing in common though- they were rockin' and singing and dancing along with us all night. We love and appreciate the enthusiasm and energy.
We appreciate the support from The Dutch as well. Jenn, Ryan, and both Mikes helped the night go smoothly as always.
A special shout out and congratulations to Tori (The Dutch's Entertainment Director) and her husband Mike as they welcomed a baby boy this past Friday. We wish them well and the best of luck.
We have a great year shaping up- a lot of gigs already scheduled and more to come. We're excited. Check out our website for the schedule.
Next up is Marchwood Tavern next Saturday, January 11th. Music starts at 9 but get there early to get a good seat and get something good to eat as well.
We wish you all a Happy and Healthy 2025. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
We put a bow on 2024 at Marchwood Tavern…
We wrapped up our 2024 schedule with a merry gathering of friends at Marchwood Tavern last night. We were gifted with a great deal of enthusiasm from those in attendance and quite a few dancers spread their cheer on the dance floor all night long. Everyone enjoyed the spirits served up by those tending the bar and that helped fuel the revelry. There was not a "bah humbug" to be heard as we brought good tidings in the form of 42 awesome classic rock goodies.
Thanks to Marchwood Tavern for their hospitality last night and at all our gigs there throughout the year.
It's been a fun year for Breaking Curfew as we've had so many opportunities to do what we love and share it with so many great people. We can't begin to put into words how much we have appreciated all the support we've received throughout the year. As James often says we couldn't do this without you. Thank-you all.
John, James , Rich, and I wish you all a happy holiday season. We hope you enjoy time with family and friends and can focus on what is good in your lives. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another.
We'll see you again in 2025. We're going to keep this good thing going. Our schedule is filling up so please check it out on the schedule page.
The Trum was rockin’…
The Trum Tavern never disappoints us and frequently surprises us. Last night it did both.
(We have a soft spot for The Trum because it is one of the first, if not THE first venue, to say to us: "Yeah, we'd like you to come play at our place.")
But last night we would not have been surprised if the crowd was a bit thinner than usual because we realized yesterday was the first day of hunting season. But the place was full all night and full of people who wanted to party and that's just what they/we did. Dancers all night and an equal number of men as women! Doesn't often happen that way. Those not dancing were singing along.
As usual some people new to the band last night as well and we heard a lot of positive feedback. One comment though was one we'd never heard before: "You guys are as tight as a clam's ass!" Now I didn't know clams had asses (I've never looked, LOL) but we'll take that as a compliment.
Thanks to all who came out last night and thanks again to Steven Lewis for inviting us to play there all these years. We hope to return for some more fun next year.
Next up is our final gig of the year at The Marchwood Tavern on Saturday, December 7th. Music starts at 9pm.
Until then, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Final 2024 gig at Big Phil’s was a rockin’ success…
Our fifth and final 2024 gig at Big Phil's was nothing short of awesome. All because of our great fans who sang and danced all night long. So much energy and enthusiasm and joy. We loved it and fed off it.
There were also a number of newcomers to the fan club and we're happy to welcome them.
We played past curfew as usual but then also answered the calls for 2 more songs. We're always happy to oblige those requests.
We also got to celebrate Big Phil's birthday (a day late). Such a cool guy.
Big thanks to Ryan, Morgan, Keely who did yeoman’s work behind the bar and on the floor. Awesome crew at Big Phil's. They were also a huge reason the night was so great.
Special thanks also to our finance manager Janet.
We have a couple of weeks off but pick things back up on November 30th with a return to The Trum Tavern. Then on December 7th we complete what has been a very successful year at The Marchwood Tavern. Hope to see you folks at one or both of those gigs.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy. We also hope everyone has a wonderful
A Brickhouse blast…
Fun time at Brickhouse last night. As usual many familiar faces- friends, family, and fans. We rocked the place for 3 hours and everyone still had lots of energy after celebrating Halloween the night before. Dancers all night, including one wild chair dance to "Funky Music." Sorry, no video of that. LOL
We appreciate all who came out and of course we are grateful for the support of the Brickhouse staff.
We return to the Brickhouse on February 1st and were already looking forward to that gig.
Today we have the second half of our double header weekend. We play at a fundraiser for Jenna's Blessing Bags which is an organization created in the memory of Jenna Burleigh. This group collects and distributes clothing, personal hygiene supplies, and foodstuffs to improve the lives of the homeless population. We are honored to a part of this event.
Spooky night at D-Town VFW…
Halloween blast at Downingtown VFW last night. What a party! So many cool costumes. Costume or not though, everyone had an awesome time. As always at the VFW the dance floor was packed all night. Now that we've been there a number of times we recognize so many of the members and they all make us feel so welcome. And, of course, we brought many of our own friends and fans as well.
We look forward to a return visit or two next year. We're going to work on some dates.
Next weekend is a double header: Brickhouse on Friday night and a fundraiser for Jenna's Blessing Bags on Saturday night. Looking forward to both.
We hope to see you soon but in th
Fun night at Timothy’s…
Fun night at Timothy's. A little smaller crowd than usual but just as enthusiastic. Fun place to play. We want to thank everyone who came out last night and the entire Timothy's crew for making it a fun time for all who were there.
Next up is the Halloween Costume Party at Downingtown VFW. This should be a blast and we can't wait. Saturday, October 26th, from 7pm to 11pm (and probably later.) Open to the public so get your best costume and take a shot at the prize money being offered.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Whitpain tavern was a blast…
All's well that ends well. No problem with the change in venue because we rocked the Whitpain Tavern last night. Enthusiastic, raucous crowd that couldn't sit or stand still all night. As usual a large contingent of Breaking Curfew fans as well as loads of new fans. Such great feedback and response.
We jammed 42 of some of the best classic rock tunes and everybody was digging it. People danced and sang along all night.
Whitpain is a great venue and we feel fortunate we got a chance to play there. Plenty of space for the band and dancers. Add great food and drinks to that and you have all the ingredients for an awesome party which is what it was.
We are now at the beginning of a busy stretch for us which takes us through the end of the year. Next up is a return to Timothy's in Exton this Friday, October 18th. We jam there from 8pm to 11pm.
Hope to see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
